Mothers Day Success for the boys

11/05/2011 13:26

Mothers Day  saw Baines Motorsport head out to the Nepean motorsport complex for round 3 of the 2011 championship for the NSWSKC .

After 2 wash outs both Jake and Wayne were itching to get on track and see if the changes made to the karts could turn around their round 1 results .

Jake had a field of 12 karts to compete against and some of the best driving seen from Jake to date saw him come away from the meeting with very solid results .

In heat 1 he started from position 7 and moved forward to 3 rd place . In heat 2 he started from position 3 and held that position till race end finishing 3rd . Going into the 3rd heat Jake was highest on points which gave him a pole starting position . He lead the race from start to finish . At feature race time he was still high points by only 1 point and was gridded to the rear of the field .

After a very patient drive he moved he way into 5th place .

The days points tallied finished Jake on the podium in 2nd place only 2 points behind the winning karter.

This was a great result and turn around for Jake and he is now looking forward the round 4 on June 5th.

Wayne’s class was over subscribed and was split into two groups .

Again after a disastrous round 1 Wayne was hoping to get back on to a competitive level with the field .

Heat 1 saw him start from grid 3 and he made his way to 2nd by race end .

Heat 2 saw him start from position 4 and he was able to find the checkered flag first winning the race . As was the case for Jake , Wayne was high points man going into round 3 and started from position 1 and lead from flag to flag .

This meant for the feature he was still the points leader and by race finish had forged his way to the front to win and take over all points win for the day

At the end of the day Alana got in Waynes kart and had a session of about 12 laps . During this Lan looked very impressive and  showed she has lost no speed at all and very well could be still giving it to the boys .

On the day Jake ran a Pamper Hamper raffle for the mums that were there and he was able to raise $375 dollars towards his end of season fund raisning tally .

The boys will be next in action on the 5th June at Nepean for round 4 of the championship .
