The Nepean Open Warp Up

Sunday the 3rd July saw the Team head out to the Nepean Motorsport Complex to compete in the annual Nepean Open meeting with the NSWSKC .

Following a strong NSW titles meeting the boys were very confident of a strong meeting and were loooking for a podium finish .

Jakes day got off to a great start in his first heat he started in grid position 12 and made his way forward to finish 7th .

heta 2 had him starting from position 4 but a mid race mishap saw him slip back to 10th . Whilst the result shows diferently Jake drove very well in this race considering after the mishap he was last half a lap behind . He gathered himself up and drove back to 10th .

The 3d heat was a tough one for him and he started out of 9 and moved forward to an 8th place finish .

When the feature rolled out Jake was scheduled to start out of grid spot 7 , when the green flag dropped he got a great start and by the end of lap 1 he was in front .

By mid race Jake had a healthy lead and was starting to cut his way thru lapped traffic , but a number of yellow flags late in the race bunched the feild up .  However Jake keeped his focus and went on to record the feature race victory .

Overall Jake finished 7th in the class of 16 .

Wayne raced in the KT Pro class and was up against a quality feild of 10 karts .

Heat 1 saw him come from 8th to finish a very strong 3rd place .

Heat 2 he started from position 2 and held that place finishing 2nd .

Going into heat 3 he was the high points placegetter earning him a pole position . Wayne got a great start and lead the first lap but turn 1 on the second lap saw it all come undone as another kart drove into the back of him spining him out of the race .

Starting from grid spot 5 for the feature was going to be a tough enough task but as he rolloed out onto the track he lost brakes and had to race the whole distance without them . However by lap 1 he had made his way to 2nd and would hold that until the race end .

Overall he finished 4th for the day .
